"Even in challenging economic environments, there are companies that consistently grow faster than their peers," said Art Saxby, founder of Chief Outsiders. "With the help of this survey, we will pinpoint the growth cycles and improve our understanding of what drives them."
This survey is a direct result of research project done by Chief Outsiders in the spring of 2011. Intrigued by the initial findings which examined how small and mid-market companies apply marketing strategies to grow, marketing researchers from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin decided to follow with a more in-depth study.
"By studying firms that are not yet large enough to be publicly traded, we hope to gain insight into the forces that shape a company’s strategic position," said Leigh McAlister, a professor at McCombs. "In particular we are interested in key factors driving small- and mid-sized company growth and the implications of a strong marketing function for the effectiveness of those factors in promoting growth. There are indicators in Chief Outsiders’ initial research that companies approach strategic marketing issues differently, and we want to explore the implications of those different approaches for companies’ growth rates."
The deadline for participants to register and take the survey is September 30, 2011.
The findings will be published by the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and promoted by Chief Outsiders. Participating CEOs will receive specific feedback and access to the final report. There is no cost to participate.
The data that participants contribute will always be private; the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and Chief Outsiders public report will present anonymous aggregate findings.
